"Hello! I follow you on twitter, and I buy all ur music.. I wanted to send you a message about a particular song of yours...
one year ago(February 1st), my Greek music shop burnt down. I've had the store for 16 years and just like that I lost everything. I was there and saw the exact second that my store was destroyed. I'm still fighting with the insurance companies and still haven't gotten compensated yet.
So.. last year, I think, a few weeks before the fire, You released My Downfall. I heard it when it dropped, a few times, but that was about it. The day after the fire, however.. I was driving down to Greektown (where my store was) in Chicago.. and the song came on.. the lyrics really affected me... For about a week and a half, that was the only song i listened to. I legit had it on repeat. I kept on trying to tweet you to tell you, to maybe get a shout out or some shit.. at the most to tell you how much your music helped me.. Besides that song, and my amazing wifey, I prolly woulda gone crazy. That store was my baby, I put in so much work for that store and just like that I lost everything.
I just want you to know how much your music helped me. Especially the line, "God chose me to put a lot on my plate, I guess he figured I wouldn't be bothered by the weight.." I've survived cancer twice, and I lost my business.. so i know a thing or two about that.
I've since reopened my shop, on a smaller scale.. i'm sharing space with a neighbor business in Greektown, still fighting with the bullshit insurance companies.. meanwhile my shop is nowhere near where it used to be.. but i'm not giving up.
thanks for listening... and please try to come out to perform in Chicago one of these days.. I'd def buy like 20 tickets for me and my friends.
